They all indicate a product that is male USB-C in one end and female Ethernet is on the other end. This item can lets you connect to a network using a wired Ethernet cable on your USB C device which supports data.

Now we even have Ethernet hubs, that contain 1 Ethernet port and few other functional ports like HDMI and USB 3.0, Their price is not much expensive than a single Ethernet adapter.

NO.

Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface developed by Intel. 
It shares USB-C connectors with USB, and can require special "active" cables for maximum performance for cable lengths over 0.5 meters. Which definitely supports PCIe 3.0 and other protocols, including DisplayPort 1.2 (allowing for 4K resolutions at 60 Hz). Thunderbolt 3 has up to 15 watts of power delivery on copper cables and no power delivery capability on optical cables. Also using USB-C on copper cables, it can incorporate USB Power Delivery, allowing the ports to source or sink up to 100 watts of power.

In a word, USB C port may not supply video out, but Thunderbolt 3 must carry video signals.

//How Do You Determine Whether a USB-C Ethernet Adapter is Compatible?

The adapter will compatible with devices which supply OTG function. 
USB On-The-Go (USB OTG or just OTG) is a specification first used in late 2001 that allows USB devices, such as tablets or smartphones, to act as a host, allowing other USB devices, such as USB flash drives, digital cameras, mice or keyboards, to be attached to them. 
Use of USB OTG allows those devices to switch back and forth between the roles of host and device. A mobile phone may read from removable media as the host device, but present itself as a USB Mass Storage Device when connected to a host computer.

However, if you want to enjoy the fast speed up to 1 Gbps/2.5 Gbps, you need to confirm the followings:
1. Make sure your Internet environment supports 1 Gbps/2.5 Gbps speed Ethernet. (make sure router, switch, hub, or modem meets the requirements)
2. Make sure your host device supports 1 Gbps/2.5Gbps speeds.
3. Make sure your Ethernet Cable connects with the adapter is above CAT 6.
4. Make sure your network connection is active.

>> How do I connect my Android Phone to Ethernet?

Things to prepare:
· USB Type-C to RJ45 Adapter,
· RJ45 Cable/internet cable
· Router (with Internet)

1.  Plug the Rj45 cable to the router.
2.  Connect the Rj45 cable to the adapter.
3.  Connect the adapter to your phone (with USB C Port that supply OTG).
4.  Now check the notification and if you see the "Ethernet cable connected" on your phone, then set up the configuration.
     4.1. If not, you have to go to Setting -> Connections -> More connections settings -> Ethernet -> Configure Ethernet device. Before connecting the device, you have to configure, otherwise, you can not figure the device's IP address. Recommend choosing the DHCP, with auto-config -> None. 

5. Then enable the Ethernet. (Don't forget to turn off your mobile data.)  
6. Next, check the indicators on the adapter if it is blinking.

Finally, you are good to go.

  • Plug the USB-C connector on the adapter into the USB-C port on your USB-C device.
  • Take an Ethernet cable that’s plugged into a router, switch, hub, or modem, and then plug the other end into the Ethernet jack on the adapter.
  • To check your Ethernet connection, on your USB C device, select the Network icon on the lower right side of the taskbar.
  • In the list of networks, you should see the name of the Ethernet network with the word Connected underneath.
  • IMPORTANT:  *If you’re having problems with your network connection, check out Fix network connection issues in Windows 10 on the Microsoft website.

1. Connect the adapter to the USB C port on your MBP.

Yes, our ethernet adapter does work with Samsung A7 (2017), 

But the Internet speed would not reach 1Gbps because the smartphone's Type-C port only supports USB 2.0.

 Please try to reset the System Management Controller.

NO.

This item does not compatible with Nintendo Switch.

Since for Nintendo switch, they have their own and only protocol for the type-c port, not compatible with most on the market.
